HelloFund, Inc. considers the privacy and personal information of all our users to be of the utmost importance. This Privacy Policy applies to the domain hellofund.com and all associated applications running on the hellofund.com domain and is the exclusive source of our privacy practices. HelloFund, Inc. partners and affiliates may have privacy practices, data collection, storage, and policies that differ from the privacy policy articulated here.

HelloFund, Inc. may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be notified by posting the date of the last change or amendment at the top of this page. Users agree that this method of notice is sufficient and that users are responsible for checking the Privacy Policy to see if updates or changes have been made.

As is true of most websites, HelloFund, Inc. collects certain information when users or guests access our website. This information may include(s): (i) IP addresses, (ii) domain servers, (iii) types of hardware accessing the website, (iv) types of web browsers used to access the website, (v) referring and exit pages, (vi) data about usage patterns.  Information of this type (“Touchpoint Data”) is anonymous information that does not personally identify users or guests but is helpful for us to improve the business performance and user experience.

In order for users to make donations through the website, users must register or take other actions on the website (e.g. contacting us through forms, etc.) we require users to provide us with information that personally identifies those who access the site (“Personal Information“). Personal Information includes, but is not limited to, the following types of data: contact data such as name, address, email address, and HelloFund user-name, account number, and passwords; financial data such as account or credit card number; demographic data such as your zip code, age, and gender; company data including business name, size, and business category; user activity data such as donation history, fundraising history, etc.

HelloFund, Inc. may use cookies to collect traffic data related to the website. HelloFund may or may not use third parties to integrate cookies on user devices to compile non-personally identifiable information so that will be aggregated statistical information about the usage of the website.

We may use third parties to gather information on how users and others are accessing and experiencing the website. The information may be used to optimize the performance of the website. We may also use cookies to serve ads through third-party ad network services to people who have visited our website. User browsers likely contain controls for deleting or disabling cookies; however, user experiences on the website may be impacted if cookies are disabled.

Except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy, HelloFund, Inc. will keep user information private and will not share it with other third parties unless such disclosure is necessary to: (i) comply with a court order or other legal process, (ii) to protect our rights or property, or (iii) to enforce our Terms of Service. 

Users should be aware that HelloFund, Inc. takes reasonable precautions to safeguard the personal information of users but that no amount of protection can guarantee its security.

HelloFund, Inc. may utilize user information in a variety of ways including sending users receipts, sending users updates about the website, sending users updates about activity on the website, sending newsletters, administering accounts, responding to customer service inquiries, sending marketing materials, improving the website and marketing efforts.

HelloFund, Inc. may send emails to users and others who interact with the website, such as emails about product releases or special events or promotions. Users that register with HelloFund may be automatically subscribed to receive marketing correspondence. 

HelloFund, Inc. may also allow users to send various transactional and outreach emails. Unless such emails are accepted as part of an ongoing commercial relationship, or otherwise, they will contain an unsubscribe link.

HelloFund, Inc. may or may not process any underlying payments facilitated by the website; payments generally are processed by our electronic transaction partner. Financial data users input to complete a transaction is encrypted using SSL technology and sent to a payments partner. For recurring payments or donations user financial and personal data is stored by a payment partner in accordance with acceptable industry standards. HelloFund, Inc. does not have access to a user’s credit card number. 

HelloFund, Inc. at times may share your personal information with other business partners who assist us in performing core services related to the website's operation. 

Any organization users make a contribution to, or purchase from, through the website will have access to user information, except for credit card numbers.  Please note that making a donation “anonymous” hides user donations from public activity feeds, not the underlying beneficiary.

If users create a user profile, then the user will be able to see the profile when they are logged in. The information in the user profile remains inaccessible to the public; in order to prevent unauthorized access to a user profile, users should not share login information with other people.

Pages created on HelloFund, Inc. are indexed by search engines and accessible to the public. If users create an event or campaign on HelloFund, Inc. and select the “private” setting, the event or campaign link will not be displayed through the activity feeds on HelloFund, Inc., and the event or campaign will not be available through the internal search function, and it will not be indexed by external search engines. However, others may be able to locate the user page via other means. Users should keep in mind that, even if a campaign or event is made private, personal fundraising pages created by supporters as part of that campaign or event will remain publicly accessible.

The information posted on event pages, campaign pages, personal fundraising pages, charity profiles, posts, or other public pages on HelloFund, Inc. can be accessed by other people. Users should exercise caution when deciding to share information on public pages. HelloFund, Inc. cannot control who accesses shared information or how other parties will use that information.

Unless users donate anonymously, the name and the amount of the user’s donation may be publicly displayed through the HelloFund, Inc. activity feed. If users become a supporter on the website or fundraise for a nonprofit, the user name and picture may also be displayed. Please keep in mind that HelloFund cannot control, where a given nonprofit will embed the widgets that post the names or donations of users.

HelloFund, Inc. may make an application programming interface (API) available to clients. An API may allow a user to automatically retrieve information from our site, for use/display elsewhere (e.g. on the user’s website).  If a user is fundraising for an entity, then the name, picture, amount raised, and goal can be retrieved by the entity through the API. If users create a team fundraising page, then the name, team goal, and amount raised by the team may also be retrieved by the entity through the API. 

Users may not want to provide HelloFund, Inc. with personal information. Those users can still visit the website without providing personal information, but the users will be unable to take certain actions.

Users may also choose to make contributions anonymously. If users make an anonymous contribution, the user’s name will not be displayed through the activity feeds. The user’s personal information will not be given to (i) the individual fundraiser, or (ii) the team fundraising entity if the user donated through a group fundraising page or a personal page associated with a fundraising group.

If a user knows or suspects that their credit card information, user name, or password has been stolen, misplaced, or used without the user’s authorization, the user should contact HelloFund, Inc. immediately. Upon notification, HelloFund, Inc. will take reasonable steps to issue a new username and reset the user’s password. Users are responsible for the safety and security of their usernames and password. Users should log out after each session and users should never share their username or password.

HelloFund, Inc. is for a general audience and is not targeted toward children. Children under 13 years of age are prohibited from using HelloFund, Inc. per HelloFund, Inc. Terms of Service. If a user’s child has accessed the website and submitted personal information, please contact HelloFund, Inc. and we will endeavor to remove that information from the website and our database.
